Assignment 1 (p. 23; #5)

Rita is very unique without the intent to be different. When she talks, the pace of her speech is rapid but also perfectly articulated. The ideas of which she speaks seem far too poetic and insightful for a woman of her years. Her prominent southern drawl attempts to take away from her competence, but her perseverance to convey the main point and her ability to memorize a substantial amount of supportive facts usually wins out in the end. Debating is Rita’s pastime. With the mind of a philosopher and the arguing skills of a politician, she leaves a lot of people either fascinated or irate.

Intelligence is not the only intriguing factor to Rita. Every day, she dives into her closet to express herself further through her outfit. The process is a bit chaotic. Her eyes carefully yet quickly glide from one item to the next and her hands pluck various shirts out one by one. With everything lying on her bed, Rita grabs the things that capture her attention. The random choices of clothing and accessories somehow meld together to form something unexpectedly classy and practical. She seems to make the simplest of tasks an art form.

Rita never ceases to amaze those around her. With her intellect and random wardrobe choices, the word "unique" does not begin to capture her true essence.
